Masa Group provides strategic, policy, and operational support for the ACLU’s border and immigration advocacy. At the beginning of our work with the ACLU, Masa Group gathered information from ACLU affiliates and coalition partners to inform a proposed strategy for border and Title 42 advocacy. Masa Group facilitated interviews with former and current government officials to reality-test the strategy’s assumptions of the policy and political landscape.

In furtherance of the ACLU’s appropriations priorities, Masa Group executed a lobbying campaign that resulted in the successful inclusion of mandatory access to counsel language in the FY23 Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Draft Bill and Explanatory Statement. 

Masa Group has worked in coalitions on behalf of the ACLU to provide logistical support for large events like #WelcomeWithDignity campaign’s days of action in November 2021. As part of the campaign, Masa Group facilitated meetings with 21 Congressional offices out of 23 requested on behalf of 88 constituents.
