  • Jose Magaña-Salgado

    Jose Magaña-Salgado (he/him) is the Principal and Founder of Masa Group. Jose previously led the Immigrant Legal Resource Center and Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Funds national immigration portfolios. Jose is barred in Washington, D.C. and Maryland; and is a former Roddenberry Fellow. He has a B.S. in Management from Arizona State University and a J.D. from Baylor Law School. Jose is an urban gardener and leads the non-profit Edgewood Community Farm in Washington, D.C.

  • Saulo Corona

    Saulo Corona (he/his) is the Office Manager for Masa Group. He oversees Operations and Administration as well as our Consultant Collaborator program. Saulo has experience in multiple fields ranging from Insurance to the Solar industry. He has a B.S. in Bio-Medical Sciences from Arizona State University. In his spare time, Saulo has a second career as a Professional Wrestler.

  • Geoffrey Louden

    Geoffrey Louden (he/him), is a Managing Policy Counsel with Masa Group. He has worked in Congress, the executive branch, and the federal courts. Geoffrey attended the University of Miami Law School where he received his J.D. and the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University, where he received his B.A. Geoffrey volunteers his time as the facilitator of PRISM, AsylumWorks' community group for LGBTQ asylum seekers.

  • Kalyani Menon

    Kalyani Menon (she/her) is a Policy Associate with Masa Group. She leads the Temporary Protected Status-Deferred Enforced Departure Administrative Advocacy Coalition (TPS-DED AAC). She has previously worked as a Research Associate at the Center for Law and Policy Research in India on matters relating to constitutional law and human rights. Kalyani was admitted to the Bar Council of India in 2020 after her graduation from Jindal Global Law School in India. She has a Master’s Degree in International Legal Studies and a certificate on International Human Rights Law from Georgetown University. She is a trained Bharatanatyam classical dancer.

  • Amani Sawari

    Amani Sawari (she/her) is a Senior Policy Advisor with Masa Group. Amani has a deep extensive background working with marginalized communities impacted by the prison industrial complex. Her expertise is at the intersection of criminal justice transformation and voting rights with experience as directing Justice Services at a national organization establishing programs in county jails to assist eligible voters with participating in their local elections via absentee ballot while incarcerated. She has a B.A. in Law Economics and Public Policy from the University of Washington. She is a lyricist and poet who enjoys playing the acoustic guitar and writing music in her free time.

  • Angie Ardis

    Angie Ardis

    Angie Ardis (she/her) is a Senior Policy Advisor collaborating with Masa Group, who has worked for organized labor for nearly two decades, with the last ten specializing in educational reform focusing on issues of concentrated poverty. Her expertise is developing and executing large-scale campaigns, education equity policy, legislation advocacy, coalition facilitation, and training. While with SEIU and UFCW, Angie worked in external and internal organizing and negotiated the first contracts for low-wage workers in various service industries. During that time, she negotiated a national boilerplate contract for Aramark Laundry Service Workers and headed the efforts in the DMV for the Walmart campaign. She has a B.S. in Sociology from Eastern Michigan University. In her free time, Angie enjoys trips to Michigan’s beautiful lakes with her daughter, Eliza, and baking for family and friends.

  • Quadira Coles

    Quadira Coles (she/her) is a Senior Policy Advisor with Masa Group. Quadira has director-level policy and legislative advocacy experience and is committed to advocating for systemic and material changes to create liberatory spaces for Black girls and young queer people. She also serves as the President of the New Jersey Abortion Access Fund. Her work focuses on reproductive and sexuality justice and ending youth criminalization with a framework in gender and racial equity. She has her Masters in Public Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Bachelors in Criminal Justice from Penn State University. Quadira was born and raised in New Jersey, is a mom to a 1 year old cockapoo named Jersey and has a passion for interior design.

  • Rajani Gudlavalleti

    Rajani Gudlavalleti (she/her) is a Senior Policy Advisor with Masa Group. She has served as a nonprofit executive director, community organizer, grantmaker, and public health researcher. Rajani has a B.A. in Sociology and English Literature from Willamette University, and a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from Johns Hopkins University. She is a long-time Baltimore resident who was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area in a large immigrant community. Rajani is a queer South Indian-American with deep experience in social justice work. Valuing rest and creativity, she loves to read BIPOC sci-fi and explore the woods with her husband.

    Rajani’s issue area is drug policy.

  • Raydia Martin

    Raydia Martin (she/her) is a Senior Policy Advisor with Masa Group. She is an experienced public policy professional with expertise in public policy research, legislative analysis, legislative advocacy communications, and bill proposal writing in the fields of child welfare, human trafficking, and women’s rights. Raydia has a Juris Doctorate and a Masters of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and School of Social Work, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in English from Emory University. In her free time, she enjoys journaling, DIY projects, and road tripping with her husband and four children.

    Raydia’s issue areas are child welfare and women’s rights.

  • Melissa Stek

    Melissa Stek

    Melissa Stek (she/her) is an Advocacy Communications Consultant collaborating with Masa Group and the founder of MountainGem Advocacy & Communications. With experience as a social worker, organizer, educator, congressional staffer, policy advocate, and communications specialist, Melissa brings a robust set of skills, wisdom, and experience to her social justice consulting practice. She has an MSW from University of Michigan and a BSW from Calvin University. She is passionate about immigrant rights, racial justice, mental health, and gender equity. Melissa is the proud great-granddaughter of immigrants, mindful of the privilege and importance of knowing her family history.

  • Elena Vanko

    Elena Vanko (she/her) is a Senior Policy Advisor collaborating with Masa Group. She has worked for over a decade to reform prisons, jails, and criminal legal systems in the U.S., and has particular expertise in policy analysis, training and technical assistance, and effective communication with diverse audiences. Elena earned an M.A. in human rights from the University of Essex, England, and a B.A. from Tufts University. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hiking, traveling, and watching English Premier League football.

    Elena’s issue areas are criminal justice and prison reform.

  • Valerie Wexler

    Valerie Wexler

    Valerie Wexler (she/her) is a Senior Policy Advisor with Masa Group. She has more than a decade of experience in advocacy, research, communications, project management, and policy analysis, as well as extensive experience as a community organizer. As an independent consultant and founder of Wexler Research, she has assisted local and congressional candidates, as well as progressive organizations, in investigations, reports, and campaign work. She brings a holistic approach to her consulting work, always keeping in mind the importance of using multiple lenses including a racial, gender, class, and disability lens, to assess a campaign or initiative. In her free time, she enjoys photography, reading really long novels, perfecting her pie crust and spending time with friends and family.

  • Victoria “Nikki” Dominguez

    Victoria “Nikki” Dominguez is a Senior Policy Advisor with Masa Group. She has worked with parents, youth, community advocates and legislators for over 10 years to change policies that impact access, equity, and representation - with a special focus on low-income, Limited English Proficiency (LEP), Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. They have a B.A. in Politics and Legal Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Victoria is a proud dog-mom to two Miniature Schnauzers, Otis & Odin.

  • Radiah Shabazz

    Radiah Shabazz, MSW (she/her), is a Communications Consultant with Masa Group. She brings over a decade of experience in nonprofit strategic communications, anti-oppressive practice, racial justice, and organizational change. Radiah holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Howard University. Radiah is deeply committed to actualizing liberation and wellness daily and does so through quality time with her family, traveling, watching psychological thrillers and crime television, reading, and writing.

  • Jannet Esparza

    Jannet Esparza (she/her) is a Contract Policy Associate with Masa Group. She has dedicated her career to serving the Latino immigrant community and has operated at the intersection of non-profit and state government. Jannet has co-authored several publications on immigrant identity, immigration enforcement, and the immigration industrial complex. She holds a Master's Degree in Sociology from Sacramento State University and a Master’s of Policy Management from Georgetown University. She completed her undergraduate education at California State University Fullerton, where she received a Bachelors in Communications and Political Science. In her free time, Jannet enjoys reading, nature, and spending time with her two pups.

  • Rachel Dupree

    Rachel (she/her) is a seasoned Communications Consultant with over five years of experience in national, state, and grassroots advocacy campaigns. With a talent for project management in high-pressure environments, Rachel guides teams through message development and cultivates enduring internal and external partnerships. Leveraging expertise in digital content strategy, storytelling, and values-based communications, Rachel has contributed to multiple ballot victories, local policy wins, and successful national media arcs in climate and racial justice movements.   • Khaliya Suaray

    Khaliya Suaray is a Contract Policy Associate, and a first-year graduate student at the American University School of International Service, pursuing a MA in International Development concentrating on security and peacebuilding practices in Sub-Saharan Africa. Khaliya was born and raised in Maryland to parents from West Africa, which inspired her career goals of working within development policy to address some of the most challenging issues that faced post-conflict and least-developed countries. She has spent most of her professional career working in and around public service and volunteering with organizations on issues such as mitigating FGM in Tanzania and addressing labor exploitation in Baltimore City. During her free time, Khaliya likes to go hiking around the D.C. area and spend time with family and friends

  • Ashley Jamison

    Ashley Jamison (she/her) is a Contract Administrative Associate with Masa Group. For most of her career, she has worked in the public sector within the state and federal government. She brings a comprehensive set of skills, the ability, and experience to navigate complex problems when multiple parties are involved, take the lead on tasks when necessary, and have the initiative to continuously learn and develop. Ashley has worked on a political campaign in which the candidate secured a seat in Congress. She has a B.S. in Business Management from Rosemont College. During her downtime, Ashley loves to binge-watch Netflix .

  • Rejoice Spencer

    Rejoice Spencer (she/her) is an Administrative/Operations Associate Contractor with Masa Group. Rejoice has a background as an administrative associate in higher education, legal assistant, and school interventionalist. She has a B.S. in Political Science from Tuskegee University. In her free time, Rejoice loves traveling and weight training.
