How to Design and Execute a Campaign for Temporary Protected Status

The Temporary Protected Status and Deferred Enforced Departure Administrative Advocacy Coalition (TPS-DED AAC) and Masa Group present a 1-hour virtual training on planning and implementing a campaign to secure a TPS designation. TPS provides work permits and protection from deportation for noncitizens (including undocumented immigrants) who cannot be safely returned to their home country. Trainers Lisa Parisio, Director of Advocacy at the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC), Jose Magaña-Salgado, Principal and Founder of Masa Group, and Lora Adams, Senior Policy Associate at Masa Group will take attendees step-by-step through a comprehensive administrative advocacy campaign that includes:

  • Identifying potential country candidates for TPS

  • Developing key products, including letters, policy briefs, population estimates, social media, and press releases

  • Securing engagements with administration officials

This training is geared for beginner to intermediate policy advocates and organizations who want to better understand how to more comprehensively and successfully engage in administrative advocacy for TPS.

  • This document is a guide for planning and executing a campaign for TPS. This is designed to help beginners, but is also a valuable resource for more experienced advocates as well.

Masa Group is available for customized individualized training on a variety of topics.
